A Long History of Professional Locksmithing

Chester Gontner, founder of Wizard Lock & Safe Co., started his career in locksmithing as a hobby. After his hardware business closed during the depression of 1929, he returned home to Lancaster. He then opened his own locksmith's shop here in 1938 and the company he started is still in operation to this day.

The evolution of Wizard Lock & Safe Co.

As the years went on, Chester hired his son Chet, who he turned the business over to when he retired. In 2008, Chet Gontner sold Wizard Lock & Safe Co. to 3 long-time employees, Karen Williams, Todd Henning, and Lary Engle.

The goal for this sale was to continue to grow the business without sacrificing the integrity of the company or the company vision.

Today, Wizard Lock & Safe Co. is the oldest locksmith company in Lancaster county, instilled with a reputation for prompt service and impeccable integrity.
